President Trump blasted the news media ahead of his return to Washington on Sunday after a 17-day working vacation.

"Heading back to Washington after working hard and watching some of the worst and most dishonest Fake News reporting I have ever seen!" the president said.

It was an eventful two-weeks plus for Trump, who near the end of his vacation dismissed White House senior strategist Steve Bannon, who had fallen out with other staff members.

Trump also came under fierce criticism from lawmakers in both parties after blaming both sides for violence at a white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, Va., where one woman was killed after a man with ties to far-right groups drove a car into a crowd of people.
North Korea was also an issue Trump had to deal with while out of Washington. Early in his vacation, he warned of "fire and fury" if that country did not stop its threats against the United States.
